Sea Water Desalination Watermaker (Land Based) SW20K-LX

The AMPAC USA SW20K-LX Sea Water Desalination Watermaker is a high-capacity, land-based system producing 20,000 gallons per day (75,700 liters per day, or 3.2 cubic meters per hour) of fresh water from seawater, removing salts, minerals, and other impurities for potable use.

Though built for land-based applications, the SW20K-LX's robust design and high output also suit larger marine vessels — including Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), Multi-Purpose Supply Vessels (MPSV), and Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) type vessels — that need substantial onboard fresh water generation to reduce dependence on shore-based supplies.

The system integrates pre-treatment modules that remove suspended solids and sediment before the seawater reaches the reverse osmosis membranes, protecting the membranes from damage. In the reverse osmosis stage, high pressure forces water through semi-permeable membranes to separate fresh water from dissolved salts. Post-treatment modules then finish the process with disinfection or pH adjustment as needed, ensuring the water meets quality requirements at the point of use.

The entire system is built on a fully welded, double powder-coated aluminum skid with a diamond plate base, giving it the durability and corrosion resistance needed for harsh marine or coastal environments and supporting long-term, low-maintenance operation.
