AMPAC USA carries under-sink and countertop units using carbon block, KDF, and sediment media. These filters remove chlorine, chloramines, taste, odor, and particulates. They work as standalone systems for municipal water or as pre-filter and post-filter stages in a larger RO setup.

RO handles most contaminants, but a post-carbon filter adds a final polishing stage that improves taste and removes any residual odors from the storage tank or tubing. Many homeowners also keep a countertop carbon filter at a second tap, such as near the kitchen sink bar faucet.

Carbon block and sediment cartridges typically last 6 to 12 months depending on water quality and household use. Higher sediment loads or chloramine-heavy municipal water will shorten cartridge life. Monitoring flow rate reduction is a reliable indicator that replacement is due.

Sediment filters capture physical particles only. Carbon block adsorbs chlorine, chloramines, VOCs, taste compounds, and odors at a chemical level. A 0.5 micron carbon block also reduces cysts such as Cryptosporidium. Combining both stages gives broader protection than either filter alone.

Yes. Most replacement cartridges fit standard 10-inch housings, which are the most common size in the industry. Countertop units are self-contained. If you are adding a filter stage to an existing system, confirm the housing inner diameter and cartridge diameter match before ordering.
