About Military Water Purification

Field operations, forward operating bases, and deployed naval vessels share the same constraint: they cannot rely on fixed water infrastructure. Water purification equipment has to work under conditions that civilian commercial equipment is not designed for, including extreme heat, salt air, high humidity, vibration, sand, and dust. The margin for downtime in the field is zero.
AMPAC USA manufactures military-grade reverse osmosis water purification units (ROWPU) for the US military, NATO forces, and government agencies worldwide. Systems have been deployed at US Army and Air Force bases, US Embassy compounds, and on NATO naval vessels across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Each system carries a NATO Stock Number (NSN) where applicable and is built to MIL-SPEC material requirements: military-grade components, marine-grade stainless hardware, and pressure vessels rated for long-term continuous duty in the field.
Feed water sources in deployed environments are rarely predictable. AMPAC military ROWPU systems are designed to handle brackish groundwater at 1,000 to 10,000 ppm TDS, surface water from rivers and lakes with high turbidity and biological load, and full seawater desalination at up to 45,000 ppm TDS. Pre-treatment stages include multimedia filtration for turbid surface water, softening for high-hardness feeds, and UV sterilization as a final barrier before storage and distribution.
Mobile configurations include trailer-mounted skids for rapid deployment, 20-foot ISO containerized units for air or sealift transport, and compact expeditionary packs for special operations applications where weight and footprint are critical. Solar and generator power integration is available for off-grid deployments.
