The Watts Big-Bubba Pleated Cartridge 150 µm, model BBC-150-PPM150, offered by AMPAC USA, is built for demanding filtration requirements, particularly applications involving gelatinous substances or requiring strong chemical resistance. This pleated sediment filter cartridge is engineered for high filtration efficiency across a range of critical applications. Its pleated design significantly increases available surface area, allowing for greater throughput and extended service life compared to traditional depth filters - improving performance while reducing how often cartridges need replacing. It's designed to fit seamlessly into all Big Bubba BBH-150 filter housings.
- 150-micron rating captures a broad range of suspended solids and particulate matter
- Pleated mesh design increases surface area and dirt-holding capacity
- Fits all Big Bubba BBH-150 filter housings
- Chemically resistant polypropylene construction
- Double O-ring seals for a leak-proof fit
Rated at 150 microns, this cartridge effectively captures a broad range of suspended solids and particulate matter from the water supply. That level of filtration suits it to pre-filtration in multi-stage systems, or as a standalone filter where larger particulates need removal. Double O-ring seals guarantee a secure, leak-proof fit within the filter housing, preventing bypass so that all water passes through the filtration media. As a jumbo cartridge, it offers substantial contaminant-holding capacity, extending its operational lifespan and reducing maintenance needs.
The BBC-150-PPM150 performs well in environments where traditional depth filtration might struggle, particularly with substances that tend to clog filters quickly. Its pleated configuration supports higher dirt-holding capacity and more consistent flow as contaminants accumulate, making it a strong choice for industrial processes, commercial water treatment, and large-scale residential applications. Whether treating municipal water, well water, or process water carrying a variety of suspended solids, it provides a dependable barrier that protects downstream equipment. Its polypropylene construction adds chemical resistance for use in systems where exposure to various chemicals is a concern.
AMPAC USA manufactures the BBC-150-PPM150 with precision and rigorous quality control for consistent, reliable operation. Beyond this 150-micron pleated option, the Watts Big-Bubba BBC-150 Series also includes finer depth filters, such as the 1-micron (D1) rating, giving customers a full range of choices for diverse filtration needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the 150-micron rating on the BBC-150-PPM150 mean?
It means the cartridge captures particles roughly 150 microns and larger, a coarser rating suited to bulk suspended solids and particulate matter.
What housing is this cartridge designed for?
It's designed to fit all Big Bubba BBH-150 filter housings.
When would this cartridge be used instead of a depth filter?
It's a good choice when traditional depth filters clog quickly, such as with gelatinous substances, since the pleated design maintains more consistent flow as contaminants build up.
What water sources is the BBC-150-PPM150 suited for?
It works well with municipal water, well water, and industrial process water that carries a variety of suspended solids.
Are other micron ratings available in this same cartridge series?
Yes, the Watts Big-Bubba BBC-150 Series includes finer depth filter options, including a 1-micron (D1) rating, alongside this 150-micron pleated cartridge.
