Alkaline Water

Alkaline water has a pH above 7 (typically 8-9.5) and contains alkaline minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and bicarbonate. It is produced naturally from springs or artificially through water ionizers, remineralization filters added after RO systems, or by blending mineral concentrates into purified water.

Proponents cite improved hydration, neutralization of acid reflux, and antioxidant properties due to negative ORP (oxidation reduction potential). Some research suggests alkaline water may benefit athletes during high-intensity exercise. AMPAC alkaline systems produce water with stable pH 8-9.5 and negative ORP for optimal benefit.

AMPAC alkaline systems combine a standard RO purification stage (removing up to 99% of contaminants) with a downstream remineralization stage. The remineralization cartridge adds beneficial calcium, magnesium, and potassium minerals back to the purified water, raising pH to 8-9.5 with a clean, slightly sweet taste.

Alkaline water is generally safe for healthy adults. Individuals with kidney disease or those taking medications that require strict pH control should consult their physician. Extremely high pH water (above 10) is not recommended for regular consumption. AMPAC systems produce water within the safe 8-9.5 pH range.

Both remove harmful contaminants via RO purification. The key distinction is in mineral content and pH. Regular RO water is slightly acidic (pH 5.5-7), while alkaline water has a higher pH and added minerals — offering enhanced taste and the benefits of remineralization without the chemical risk of unfiltered sources.
