The AMPAC USA AP1000S Ion Exchange Water Softener is designed to reduce water hardness and prevent lime scale damage in homes and businesses. It targets and removes calcium and magnesium, the primary minerals responsible for hard water, protecting plumbing, appliances, and fixtures from scale buildup and extending their lifespan. The AP1000S can also eliminate small amounts of iron, up to 3 parts per million; for higher iron concentrations, AMPAC USA's Iron Manganese Whole House Filters can be added for more complete treatment.

  • 32,000-grain softening capacity for residential and light commercial use
  • Clack WS1 Digital Valve for precise, efficient regeneration control
  • 9"x48" resin tank with 1 cubic foot of Hi-Cap cation resin
  • 3/4" riser tube for optimal water flow and distribution
  • Removes hardness minerals plus up to 3 ppm of iron

The AP1000S softens water through ion exchange: as water flows through the system, it passes over a bed of resin beads charged with sodium ions, which exchange for the calcium and magnesium ions in hard water. A Clack WS1 Digital Valve provides precise control and efficient regeneration, monitoring water usage and automatically starting the regeneration process when the resin bed becomes saturated, flushing out accumulated hardness minerals and recharging the resin with sodium.

With a 32,000-grain capacity, the AP1000S suits a wide range of residential and light commercial applications, softening a significant volume of water before regeneration is needed. The system includes a durable 9"x48" resin tank holding one cubic foot of Hi-Cap cation resin, a premium-grade resin engineered for efficient ion exchange, along with a 3/4-inch riser tube for optimal water flow and distribution.

AMPAC USA engineers every component of the AP1000S, from the resin tank to the digital control valve, for reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance. The AP1000S is a practical choice for eliminating hard water problems and protecting a property from the damaging effects of scale.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the AP1000S remove from water?

It removes calcium and magnesium, the minerals responsible for hard water, and can also eliminate small amounts of iron, up to 3 parts per million. Higher iron levels can be addressed by adding AMPAC USA's Iron Manganese Whole House Filters.

What is the grain capacity of the AP1000S?

The AP1000S has a 32,000-grain capacity, suited to a wide range of residential and light commercial applications.

What valve controls the AP1000S?

A Clack WS1 Digital Valve provides precise control and monitors water usage, automatically starting regeneration when the resin bed becomes saturated.

What size is the resin tank and how much resin does it hold?

The AP1000S includes a 9"x48" resin tank holding one cubic foot of Hi-Cap cation resin, along with a 3/4-inch riser tube for optimal water flow.

How does the AP1000S soften water?

It uses ion exchange: water passes over resin beads charged with sodium ions, which exchange for the calcium and magnesium ions that cause hardness.
