The AMPAC USA 5-Micron Sediment Filter 20" Big Blue (SED-05-BB) is a high-capacity jumbo sediment filter cartridge for Big Blue 4.5-inch x 20-inch filter housings, providing fine particle removal for whole-house water treatment and commercial RO system pre-filtration. Melt-blown polypropylene media removes dirt particles, rust, sand, silt, and suspended solids without wetting agents, solvents, antistatic agents, or binders.

The 5-micron rating is the most commonly specified pre-filtration stage for whole-house RO systems and commercial water treatment. Install as the final sediment stage before carbon filters and RO membranes to protect sensitive downstream components from particulate fouling. In multi-stage pre-filtration, install after a coarser 20-micron first stage to maximize cartridge life at 5 microns.
