Even mild dehydration, losing just 1-2% of body weight, can cut cognitive performance by up to 13%. Giving your team purified water through point-of-use RO systems is a low-cost, high-impact way to invest in their wellness.

<span style="font-weight: We all know our businesses thrive because of our employees. We often look at tech giants like Google and Facebook, known for being great places to work, and then focus on perks instead of employee growth or gratitude. Maybe it's a basketball hoop in the lounge, new food in the cafeteria, or even a small raise. While these perks are nice, they aren't what truly keeps people around.

<span style="font-weight: A TINYpulse report found that while perks create a stress-free environment, they're not enough if employees don't feel appreciated sometimes. The survey, which included over 500 organizations and 30,000 employees, showed that when people received more recognition, they were more likely to say their workplace was fun. Even more interesting, around 70% of them felt more engaged at the office because of their peers, not because of perks or amenities.<span style="font-weight: Yet, many businesses aren't doing this well. The report also found 79% of employees felt undervalued for the work they put in. According to Employee Retention Specialist, Globoforce, 55% of employees will leave a company for another if they get better recognition and appreciation for their work.

“Employees want to work for an organization that not only values their work but that shows them appreciation.” – Laura Troyani, Employee Engagement Guru at TINYpulse.

<span style="font-weight: A different study showed that people who met daily felt a sense of team, which made work much more enjoyable. Compared to employees who barely met once a month, that sense of belonging and interest in their work was far lower. Globoforce ran a similar study and found that 71% of employees loved their companies because they had friends at work, compared to just 24% who didn't. The reverse was also true: <span style="font-weight: Only 21% of employees with friends were ready to leave their company for another, while 49% of those without friends were.

<span style="font-weight: This clearly means connections with co-workers also affect how long people stay at companies.

<span style="font-weight: Today, businesses need to invest more in their employees' growth, and simply recognizing their efforts is a great start. Here are a few ways a business can show employees they're valued.

Praise and say thank you

<span style="font-weight: These words are often overlooked. A simple "thank you" goes a long way in motivating an employee. What's even more important is when you explain why you're grateful, highlighting their specific effort. That makes the appreciation feel genuine. Pointing out their hard work also shows it was an important action, creating a positive atmosphere for everyone.

Improve Peer relationships

<span style="font-weight: We used to think manager-to-employee relationships were most important for both the employee and the business. However, as we just saw, employees feel safer and more engaged when they work with social, accepting peers. You can encourage activities and positive behavior to build a sense of belonging among employees. The culture where employees work really helps them feel valued, or not.

<span style="font-weight: It's clear that appreciating your employees is a key way to build a good team culture and create a support system for them. An engaging, interactive environment helps employees find the drive and interest to work, and to be productive. So, it's vital to invest in your employees first with a "thank you," even before you think about raises and more perks.

About Author:
<<span style="font-weight: Ampac USA<span style="font-weight: builds water treatment systems used all over the world for quality drinking water.
