The Ampac Under Sink Water Filter systems protects you from the Cryptosporidium and other bacteria that aren't removed in many municipal treatment plants. The first stage Sediment Filter removes Sediment, and Silt.  The Second Stage Filter is activated coconut Shell carbon filter removes bacteria, lead, mercury and other heavy metals as well as dangerous pesticides, herbicides and other volatile organic chemicals as well as it  extracts even protozoa, salmonella, E.COLI, Cryptosporidium and Giardia cysts.  The replaceable cartridges last through approximately 8,000 gallons or three years when used with a standard U.S. municipal water supply.
